Boasting That Makes For Livly Knowledge

Most believers know that they are to "rejoice in the Lord": finally my brothers "rejoice in the Lord". "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice". The word translated "rejoice" in Philippians 3:3 is almost synonomous with "boast". So we do no injustice to this text to say that Christians are called to boast as it were about a specific achievement of Christ. That is making real "the roighteousness of God" for us and to us "through faith". Justification always has a sequel--in this case it is effectual livly knowledge, experimental knowledge; resurrection power in the present tense. This is what is meant by the well known cluase, "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection..."
