Heart of True Repentance

I can't break my own spirit, I can't make a contrite heart. These are works that only God can do. How desperately we need this! The hypocrite in heart does not desire these things. The main problem in many of Christ's churches today is spiritual apathy amongst God's elect. A broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart are called 'the sacrifices of God' because they stem from God, not from us, and thus these are acceptable to Him.
