Gathering for the feasts

As I was studying for this sermon I kept running into a little problem, most of the commentaries I was looking through mentioned these three feasts and kept right on trucking. However if it was important enough for God to have Moses stop here and insert these feasts into the text at this point than it would seem that she should give them a little attention. And then the thought came to me to use the K.I.S.S. method and keep it simple because that is what they were. Each one was celebrated at a specific time of the year in regards to the harvest and the blessings that come from that but they also depict something about our Savior. Perhaps that is why the command is for all the men to come to Jerusalem to come to Jesus because men have the hardest heads when it comes to coming to God.
