Fear of the Risen Christ Removed

First, in v 17 - Christ's claim to be the eternal God removed John's fear: "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last."

Second, at the beginning of v 18 - Christ's death and resurrection from the dead to live eternally removed John's fear:
"I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore..."

Third, at the end of v 18 - Christ's authority and power over death and the grave removed John's fear:
"And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."
