"saying, Yea, I have loved thee"(Jer 31:3)

  1. THE ETERNALNESS OF GOD'S LOVE

Not only love, but everlasting love !

i) Endures Time - not only in eternity to come, but He loved His own from before the foundation of the world

ii) Endures Circumstances-when we fail,He still loves us,even though He may have to chasten us.

iii) Endures Satan's Accusations- "if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father" (1st John 2:1)

  1. THE EFFECT OF GOD'S LOVE

i) Magnetism Of This Effect
"therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee" (Jer 31:3)

Those who are saved have been first drawn by God to put their trust in Christ.

God has drawn His people from sin to holiness, from self to Christ, and He draws us aside to mediatate on Himself and pray.

ii) Manner Of This Effect
"lovingkindness"-two words into one !

" the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance" (Rom 2:4)

Christian, don`t lose heart when you fail - think of God's enduring love!

Sinner-Has the Lord been good to you ? You KNOW He has ! Is that not a good argument for you to leave your sin and trust Christ for salvation- then you can say "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
