The Two Jerusalems.

7

Most Christians are focussed on natural Israel, or Israel after the flesh as the Bible styles it. Their attention is riveted on the land of Israel, especially at this time. They seem to have lost sight of the fact that there is a Heavenly Jerusalem and all who are born of the Spirit, Jew and Gentile, are members of this city, which is the Bride of Christ. Revelation 21:9-10. In Galatians 4:21-31, we have a very clear representation of the difference between the earthly Jerusalem and the Heavenly Jerusalem.Hebrews 1218-24 we have another very vivid contrast mount Sion and mount Sinai. A lot of God's people seem to have lost sight of these truths. Even now, as Israel grapples with the terrorist organisation, Hamas, ad have not exactly behaved very well in a difficult situation, one sees articles and comments from those obsessed with natural Israel who don't seem to be moved by the plight of the children..How one can watch the horrific injuries inflicted upon the children and not feel moved, is beyond me. Is it not strange that the New Testament hasn't a word to say about the return of Israel to their ancestral home. Paul states that they are in bondage with their children. Revelation terms the earthly Jerusalem, Sodom and Egypt. We should have the heart of Paul as recorded in Romans 10. "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. They, as a people, are not God's people, as so many Christians believe. They are sinners, heading for a lost eternity. WE should pray for them, and the Palestinians, every day that God might have mercy upon them as he has had on us. Then, they will be, both of them, Abraham's seed.
