How Looking At Tragedy, Death & Destruction From God's Perspective Will Change Yours

249

A friend of mine called me up this afternoon and asked me a pretty good question, one that I would like to share with you all as well. Why, they asked, would God allow a beautiful young woman to tragically die in a car accident, while at the same time allowing a deadbeat drug addict, who brought nothing to his family but misery, to not only stay alive but thriving as well. Now that's a pretty good question, one that the bible absolutely has the answer to.

"For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end." Psalm 73 (KJB) selected

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking how how bad things happen to good people, and how good things happen to bad people, and everything in between. The affairs and events of this life on the sin-cursed earth we all live on can be baffling and perplexing, even for the Christian, until you look at them the same way that God looks at them. Remember how Jesus, in John 21, told Peter that Peter's death on the cross would be glory to God? Wha…??? That's crazy, right? Yes, crazy from a human perspective but not from God's point of view. Tonight we will open our King James Bibles and take a real and honest look at the difference between what we think life is all about, and what God created life on this earth to be.
