Much Worse Punishment

Hebrews 10:26-31 is a strong warning to the Hebrew Christians against apostasy. The visible church is a spiritually mixed community, consisting of those with true faith and those who only appear to have genuine faith. The Hebrew Christians were under persecution, leading to the possibility of some walking away from the church, back to Judaism. This warning states that those who forsake Christ have no other sacrifice that will save them. At that point, only judgment awaits.
