What is Salvation?

The Book of Jonah, in the Minor Prophets, was endorsed as verbally accurate by our Lord Himself (Matthew 12:39-41). This means that what we read in this little book — while hard to reconcile with our own notions — is God's absolute truth.

Jesus said, "As Jonah, so Christ." Reject the prophecy of Jonah and you rejected the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And Jonah also pictures God's way of salvation by His sovereign grace.
