Hallowed Be Thy Name

How should we pray? Jesus taught us how in what has been called the Lord's Prayer. This is not a mere form that we are supposed to repeat verbatim and be done. It is an outline for the sorts of petitions we are to bring before the throne in prayer. We do not need new forms or new ideas on how to pray. We need to submit to what the Lord Jesus Christ gave us as THE way to pray. The first petition is "Hallowed Be Thy Name." By this petition we are taught that God's name is the most important thing there is. That is the first thing we are to bring up in prayer. We are to align our concerns with God's and put Him first in all things, including prayer.
