1105 God's Wish List Pt-9

43

This considers the importance of why we should confirm our service for God rather than just doing what seems so right to us; before we find out we have made a mistake. Like going down an unfamiliar road in the wrong direction and expecting all the while to arrive at our destination only to be bewildered upon finding out the truth.
In the New Testament the implication is made that believers are at risk of failing to please God. In Romans 12:1-2, Paul uses the word beseech in begging them to prove that their works are God's will. Then in Revelation 3:15-18, John warned those at Laodicea that they had lost their passion and had become extremely offensive to God in their work for Him.
It's a little hard to believe that the hardest working members could be failing in their efforts to serve God but consider this, Jesus actually scolded Martha, who was working hard to serve Jesus and His guests and commended Mary who was just listening to Jesus, (See Luke 10:38-42). In the minds of most believers it's hard to understand why Jesus responded to Martha's request so harshly or what would be so bad about Mary giving Martha some needed help. The problem is that we don't understand what God is looking for from His creation.
The Church is like a large company where people come to work in many different departments with many different managers, all of who have their own opinions of what should be done and how to do it. Then as time passes the new person forms their own ideas and moves on to help influence other new people in their work. The problem is that we are not responsible to our managers like in regular companies but directly, and exclusively to the Owner.
