Conflict of Politics & Faith

Jeremiah is petitioned by Zedekiah to pray for Jerusalem and he listened to the kings plea, yet the prophet could say no more or less than god had told him to say. Zedekiah was not willing to stand with the prophet nor believe the Word of the Lord. Therefore did the king follow the political movement of the princes and would not heed the prophet. The kings politics were against the faith of the prophet and in conflict with the God Word.
