A Rebuke, Promise, Commission

With a question, the apostles reveal a fundamental confusion about the Kingdom of God. The Lord corrects their view (once again) with a rebuke, a promise, and a commission. By the Lord’s response, we are reminded that (1) The kingdom of God is spiritual, and resides in the hearts of men – it is not territorial or political, (2) the kingdom of God is international, her citizens are from every kindred, every tribe on this terrestrial ball, and (3), the kingdom of God will expand gradually – until the end of the age, throughout the ends of the Earth.
