Suffering to Death, Raised to Glory

Isaiah unfolds with the greatest clarity the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the foretold Messiah. The Messiah would indeed rule and reign, but not until He returns. First He must suffer, die and be raised bodily from the dead.

Seven hundred years before the events of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ took place, God revealed His plan and provision for the the forgiveness of sin.

Christ as the Servant of the Lord was to endure great and terrible punishment. Punishment that would be so severe as to 'mar His appearance more than any man,' that was excruciatingly painful and absolutely humiliating.

All foretold by God before Jesus Christ would come to earth, born as a baby in a manger. The baby in the manger is much easier for people to embrace - the Baby as the God-man who died on the cross is more difficult as it brings condemnation for sin into the picture.

The most critical question for every single person to personally consider continues to be - what will you do with Jesus Christ? To recognize our sin and our need for a Savior, to recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior provided by God is to be forgiven and have great hope and joy in anticipating His return when 'He will be high and lifted up and greatly exalted.' To refuse such recognition is to choose to have 'the wrath of God abide on us' and hell as our eternal destiny.
