A Gospel Moment, 2

The word in our text referencing “the wicked one” is one and the same as in v. 11, בְּלִייַעַל
(bĕlîyaʿal)! Accordingly, we take this passage as far more than simply a promise regarding the downfall of Assyria! Rather, we understand that Nahum here is speaking ultimately of the downfall of Satan- a downfall which began with the first Advent of Christ AND which would be consummated at the Second Advent of Christ!
