Jesus reveals His Betrayer

117 ( 81 | 36 )

As we continue to study John 13, we read of our Lord Jesus declaring that one of His disciples was a traitor, who would betray Him to the Jewish authorities. After being asked by John as to the specific identity of His betrayer, Jesus indicated to John only that it was Judas Iscariot who would betray Him. The other disciples did not fully understand the action of Jesus in identifying Judas and then sending him forth to do his deed. Why did Jesus not identify the traitor specifically before all, but allowed each of them to wonder, "Will it be I who betrays Him?" We address this and several other implications today from our passage of John 13:18-30.
