Memory Verses: 1 John 2:15-17

Day 1: Read 1 Sam. 15:24-30 Describe some confessions you have heard, or even said yourself. What sort of excuses did they contain? What were the outcomes of confessing in such a way (with excuses)? Why did Saul confess?

Day 2: Read Pro. 13:24 & 29:15 Parents, ask your children: "Why do we discipline you?" or "What is the purpose of discipline?" When discipline is about to happen, what is the demeanor of your children? What do you do in response to a child who is not submitting to the discipline they are about to receive or are receiving?

Day 3: Read Saul's confessions: 1 Sam 15:24, 30, 26:21 & David's confessions: 2 Sam 12:13, 24:10, 17, 1 Chr 21:8, Psa 41:4, 51:5 Why was David "better" than Saul. What differences do you see in their confessions?
Day 4: Read Matt 7:21-23 What evidence is there that these people knew OF the Lord? What evidence is there that they didn't KNOW the Lord? What is clearly no substitute for repentance?
