Memory Verses: Romans 10:13-15
Day 1: Read Luke 8:5-15 Up to this point in this series of sermons on this parable, identify the three different types of soil and what each represent. Give an example/illustration of each in order to help younger children understand. What does the fourth soil represent? How is it similar to any of the others? What is very different about it?
Day 2: What does the word "hear" mean in the explanation of this parable? How can you really tell you "hear" God's Word? What sorts of questions can you ask yourself, in order to examine whether or not you "hear" God's Word?
Day 3: What makes the fourth "soil" noble and good? What are the "evidences of salvation" seen in the explanation of this parable? What does it mean to have God's Word "buried" in your heart? What is the meaning of the word "patience" in verse 15? Is it passive or something that is active?
