Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Phil. 4:11-13

Day 1: Read Luke 8:40-56 and discuss: Why is "sleep" a fitting metaphor for death? What does the other group that Pastor Scott mentioned believe about this term "sleep" as it relates to death? Read a few of the cross references Pastor Scott mentioned in this section and discuss how they would be helpful responses to anyone who believed in a "soul sleep".

Day 2: Read Luke 8:40-56 & 19:16-31 discuss: Is this a parable or an account of an actual event? Explain your answer. What does this passage reveal about "sleep" as it relates to death and to what happens after death?

Day 3: Read Luke 8:40-56 and discuss: Consider the other instances where Jesus raised someone from the dead. What were some of the evidences of new physical life? Consider yourself. What are some evidences of spiritual life? What evidence is there that God is at work in your life, reaping spiritual fruit? Avoid answers that list what you are doing and instead carefully examine your life for actual fruit that God's Spirit has brought forth.
