He is Risen! (and why it matters)

Before he went down in history as the man who condemned Jesus to die, Pontius Pilate unintentionally did the world a great favor. He asked the most important question any person ever faces, a question that must be answered by every member of every generation. “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Matthew 27:22 (NKJV) You cannot remain neutral about Jesus. He has not left that option to us. To ignore Him, or refuse to consider Him, is to reject Him. The Gospel accounts of Passion Week show multiple responses to Jesus among those who lived on the earth with Him. Religious people rejected Him as a challenge to their pride and self-righteousness. Other people rejected Him because obeying the call to follow Him was just too costly. Still others rejected Him by default; they were too busy living life to contemplate their own eternity.
