Persuasion

In Galatians 5:8, Pauls speaks of some of the Galatians having been persuaded to believe a lie. In other words, their minds had been changed. But why should this be? Was it because they were not established in the Faith or was it that they didn't carefully consider, that is, use their minds by think carefully about what they had been persuaded to believe. Atheists accuse Christians of leaving their brains at the church door. There is truth in that, but not for the reasons they assert. Some Christians believe that we shouldn't think, "just believe." Such talk is wrong and dangerous. We should carefully think about what we hear and consider if it is in keeping with the revealed Word of God.
