The Church is Born

On the day of Pentecost, through the sheer miracle of God's grace, a dynamic, Spirit filled, unified, teachable, generous, worshipping and praying community is born. This awe filled community of redeemed (Christ-crucifying) sinners are participating in the very life of the Father and the Son by the Spirit even as Jesus had prayed.

There is no other explanation for the spontaneous rich koinonia (fellowship) and oneness that the first believers enjoyed and that had such an impact on their wider community. Here is a word to shake a sleeping church awake to its true life and calling. No clever techniques, programs or conferences on evangelism but the surpassing power of a crucified and risen Messiah and the coming of the Spirit to bring the dead to life and launch them into God's mission.
