Rejoicing in Suffering

One of the many lies that has been permeating through the professing Church is the lie that God guarantees healing. In the long run this is true, because if you are a Christian, by way of believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ, you have a glorified body guaranteed.
Yet, in this life there is the guarantee of suffering. One look in the mirror will show that the effects of the Fall are upon all of humanity. Our suffering leads to humility, which leads us to trust the Lord more and more.

Paul’s suffering was used to keep Him focused on the Grace of God, rather than any power he may have thought he had.

It is the goal of preaching the full counsel of God to pull the rug out from man’s assumed power, and direct him, or her, to “deny himself, and pick up the cross...”
