Deny, take up, follow

If we are going to do as the Lord says to do we have to deny ourselves first. Too many times we are willing to throw excuses out there instead of our best effort. Some people don't even bother with the excuses and just start running from God; while others just sit and do nothing at all. Instead of worrying about what others may think of us we need to be concerned with what Jesus thinks of us. Most of the world could careless for Jesus and will feel the same way toward us as well. That should be encouragement to all of us to not worry about it and go with Jesus. Putting all else to the side for the honor of serving Him.
