This week Pastor Ron Lewis continues expounding 3 John 2-4.

3 John 2-4 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. (NASB)

We look at John's beautiful and heart-felt prayer for his beloved friend Gaius. Pastor Ron explains what the words “prosper” and “good health” actually mean in this context.

We also learn how the “prosperity gospel” teachings have taken this verse completely out of context to make it one of their major doctrines that everyone should be financially prosperous and in good health. This is a false teaching we need to be aware of.
