Judging Others in Humility
Series Matthew Series
Here I believe Jesus is addressing a harsh and unloving spirit in judgment. He is not saying we should never judge, but that our judgment should be righteous and marked by grace and mercy! This was not happening in his day!
The Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees were a self-righteous, nit-picking, soul oppressing people! They focused on the minute details of people's lives with a heart quick to condemn rather than one to restore! They sacrificed grace and mercy on the altar of outward form and legalistic obedience to the tradition of men.
There are wonderful principles in this passage which ought to govern our interactions with family, community and God's people. May the Lord give us grace to stay near the cross and deal graciously with others as God has dealt graciously with us.
