Doing Something More For God (Information DVD)

2,487 ( 154 | 2,333 )

This short DVD has been produced to give information on the various stages of our 'Doing Something More For God' Campaign.

The exhortation, "Do something more for God," was first given more than 150 years ago by Rev. J. H. Moore, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Connor, to some of the most promising young men in his congregation.

Those young men were James McQuilkin, John Wallace, and Robert Carlisle.

They responded favourably to the challenge to attempt "something more."

Together with Jeremiah Meneely, they commenced a Sunday School, followed by a Bible Class for the parents of the children who attended.

In the autumn of 1857, the teachers of this little school again did "something more." These four men started the prayer meeting that became the harbinger of the 1859 Revival – a work of grace that resulted in 100,000 souls brought to saving faith in Christ.

This 150th Anniversary year of the 1859 Revival presents us with a golden opportunity, "To Do Something More For God."

This DVD outlines the different stages that are being planned for our large scale Gospel Advertising Campaign in Northern Ireland, scheduled to begin in September 2009. This will include adverts on buses and billboards, plus province-wide Gospel literature distribution. Much work needs to be done. And there is ample opportunity for you to become involved.

May we enthusiastically rise to the challenge of getting the Gospel to our fellow countrymen and women.

Let us really "Do something more for God"!
