8 Evidences of Authentic Confession #2

Here we see that a genuine confession of Christ as Lord will be evidenced by a love of prayer and a sincere love of other believers. Prayer is for the saved man, what breathing is for a living man. Without breath there is no life. The fellowship of the saints in a local congregation has an irresistible attraction for those that are born of the Spirit above. The Lord Jesus died for the Church, gave His Holy Spirit to the Church, delivered the Word of God in the N.T. for His Church, gave elders to shepherd His Church through faithful preaching and teaching of the whole counsel of God, gave deacons to serve the needs of the Church, and gave fellow believers to encourage love and good works in His Church. We dare not neglect these excellent gifts of the Lord Jesus Christ, or we neglect our own souls and those of our children. Let's consider again what an authentic confession of Christ as Lord looks like.
