Covid, Church and Magistrate

State governments all over the U.S. are banning church gatherings. What should the church do? Some outside the church have offered to help the church think about this theologically. Remember, they say, "love your neighbor as yourself." But what about "Love the Lord your God" which is a greater commandment than "love your neighbor"? What about the command to "Remember the Sabbath Day". Is a sermon alone what God intended when He said to "remember the Sabbath day"?
Is a sermon all there is to the body of Christ? What is the church to do when the head of the Church, which is Christ, commands one thing and Caesar commands another? This is the choice before us, beloved. We are at the fork in the road, whether we want to be or not. In this audio, I provide five reasons why I think the church should still be gathering together in some way. This is more narrowly focused on the question of whether the pastors/elders of churches should cancel the church meetings (to please the government), not a question of whether certain individuals with weak constitutions, risk factors, or other issues, should stay home for the time being. The latter question is not the burden of this message.
