"I Am Forgiven"

"One of the most powerful and moving sermons I have heard in the last 40 years." So said one of our members who has spent a lifetime listening to preaching. There is a nugget tucked away in our Lord's "model" or "template" prayer. The prayer is dominated by the subject of forgiveness. We need to be shocked and impressed by the fact that Almighty God forgives us. We underestimate the price Christ paid. We are not struck dumb by the wickedness of our sin. We think that only murderers and rapists are sinners! This is a tender, pointed, eloquent and poetic call to first meditate on the agonies of Calvary and then exclaim, "I am forgiven!"
