The Binding of Isaac

God severely tried Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his only son Isaac, the son of God's special promise, whom Abraham dearly loved. And Abraham so believed God that he obeyed, and was ready to slay him. He did this thinking that God could do all things, even raise Isaac from the dead! Therefore God delivered Isaac, granted him a substitute in the ram, and reaffirmed His everlasting covenant of grace to Abraham. God still tries His servants today, and reaffirms every blessing to those who trust and obey.
