Finding encouragement in trials

1. Forgive
   David forgave his friends who were ready to stone him.

2. Pray
   Before David did anything else, he enquired of the Lord what he should do because he needed wisdom and power.

3. Believe
   Trials tempt you to disbelieve God. God can promise and fulfill because he can bring it to pass.

4. Love
   David had love for his wives and children and that love prompted him to recover them from the enemy. David also had love for his fellow soldiers and their wives and children. We should show the same love toward the unsaved that they might be recovered from the enemy.

5. Lead
   It was not in the mind of the army to do anything at this point, but David led in spite of that. He led by forgiving, praying, believing, and loving.

6. Overcome
   You may not always see during the trial that God is putting you through. All David saw was his city destroyed and his wives and children taken. God uses today's circumstances to bring even greater blessings.
