• Understand two Christian life principles (12-13):
 All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted (12)
 Evil people will go on from bad to worse, (13)
Deceiving and being deceived

• Understand the need to “continue” in the faith (14-15)
 In the things you have learned and firmly believed (14)
 Knowing
• The people from whom you learned them (14)
• The sacred writings themselves (15)
That they are able to make you wise for salvation
