Jacob leaves Laban in this passage, and obeys God's command to return to his father's land. But Esau is an obstacle that must be dealt with. Jacob combines prayer with action, and humbly and shrewdly sends wealth ahead to meet Esau on the way. How is Jacob a model for us?
