Isaiah's prophesy begins by telling Israel that she is doomed. Nothing can save her from God's wrath. This is meant to be a warning to Judah, Israel's younger sister. In both cases, the priests and leaders of the land were corrupt and drunk with their own power and fame. What will Judah do? In the end, of course, she will be destroyed just like her sister.

But God's plans for the future of his people are not final and total destruction. The exile and punishment of God's covenant people is for a purpose. That purpose is to make ready the place for the Cornerstone: The Holy Son of God. It is it prepare the way for the Spirit of Justice that will come to indwell God's people. When this occurs, God will be a Glorious Diadem to his people.
