Christ Returns to Minister in Capernaum

Upon Jesus and his disciples' return to Capernaum, four men brought one sick of the palsy to Jesus while breaking up the roof of the house to let him down. The LORD healed the man and rebuked the doubting scribes. Then Matthew is called of the LORD to follow him. He left his work and followed, then served a feast for the LORD in his house. Many publicans and sinners came. The Pharisees criticized the Savior who told them that "They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick." He continued, "But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice." This section closed with a parable about patches on torn clothing and wine in new bottles.
