Paul's Apostleship

13

Christianity has a variety of denominations and denominational differences in our day. One of those denominations finds its distinction in professing that they have the same gifts as the apostles; commonly, these churches are known as apostolic churches. They are called apostolic for the belief that the apostolic ministry and gifts remain even in our generation. For our second-hour service, Pastor Simpson plainly delivered a Biblical defense of why there can be no more apostles. Furthermore, not only can there not be any apostles, the special gifts they had in order that they might spread the gospel, also no longer exist. Pastor Simpson also defined the purpose of having apostles. If there was an end of the apostolic age, if you will, then why do some persist in saying that these gifts still exist to this day? Well, while you must come to your own conclusion, we pray God gives you wisdom and guidance from His Word and not from your emotions or intellect.

Make sure to tune in over the next several weeks as Pastor Simpson plans to speak to Jesus as the One God. To hear more sermons like this one from our wisdom series find Providence Church on SermonAudio.com. Come visit us next Lord's Day!
