Psalm 55 Meditation

While the occasion of David writing this Psalm is betrayal by a false friend and former intimate acquaintance(Saul? Absalom? Ahitophel?), it ultimately looks to the fact that Jesus came to His own and His own received Him not (John 1:11) and His betrayal by Judas. We, as believers, attract the hatred of the world, but we can sing this Psalm knowing that our Jesus went through it and knows how to deliver us.
