A Sign From Heaven

The odd team of Pharisees and Sadducees demand that Jesus prove His claims with a sign from heaven. They are not convinced by His having healed multitudes; nor His raising people from the dead; nor His mastery of the Scriptures. Nor will they allow the plain prophecies of the OT to sway them. Instead, they rely only on their personal judgment. Even so, many unsaved are unconvinced while demanding that God prove Himself to them. Such a demand puts God on trial, and elevates the sinner to the position of judge. This is nothing but depraved, unreasonable, arrogant pride.
