Mercy and Justice

How are we all born into this world like Abigail, married to a 'fool', our sinful flesh? Are we all deserving of the severe justice of condemnation of the LORD? How can God be just and show mercy to sinners? How did Christ reconcile mercy and justice in Himself and His work on the cross? How is God's holiness the center attribute that all others revolve around? How was Abigail a type of Christ's chosen ones, bowing to David as a type of Christ and begging mercy and offering thanks even before he even answered her?
