The Subtle Danger Of Drifting

In the book of Hebrews, the recipients of the letter are being warned to pay much closer attention to what they had heard, the message of the gospel, because they were falling to the subtle danger of drifting from the gospel. There was a sequence of events at work: pressure from persecution, temptation, neglect of the gospel message, and drifting from the gospel. The end result would be one of two outcomes: retribution, or awakening and rescue by God's grace.
