Christ's Compassion to ALL People

103 ( 58 | 45 )

Just 2 chapters earlier, Mark gives the account of the miraculous account of the feeding of the 5000.

Tho' liberal critics assert that Mark made a mental mistake, we see that when we actually study the overarching context of this section, that Mark is building a massive missiological theology.

In sum: the blessings promised to the children (the Jews) are now being shared with the dogs (the Gentiles), as foreshadowed in the previous chapter.

The prophets foresaw a great ingathering & subsequent blessing of the Gentiles in the Messianic era, and thus Mark is clearly telling us that in Christ, the end is here.

A glorious text that ought to encourage that Christ is the Savior of the world, not just the Jews.

This is task of Biblical theology, namely to fit all the pieces into the big picture of redemption.

Indeed, if you are a Gentile, rejoice, for the Messianic feast is for ALL who believe in the Messiah, Jesus.
