How to Handle False Teachers In the Church: The Reality, Reproof & Reasons, Part 1

In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches Titus 1:10ff which fleshes out the reason "WHY" all elder/pastors must hold fast the faithful Word (in v.9). Why must all elders be above reproach and be competent in the Word of God?

Verses 10-16 give 7 urgent and indispensable reasons WHY all elders must be adequate and competent in the Word:

1. because of the abundance of the deceivers (10)
2. because of the danger of their teaching (11)
3. because of the motives of their heart (11-12)
4. because of the necessity of firm reproof (13)

Next time, we will look at Titus 1:14-16 on the other 3 reasons why godly men must be competent and holding fast the Word of God.
