What to do when family is in trouble

We all have some family somewhere that has gotten into some form of trouble. None of us are immune. Here we see a man in a crowd who is in just such a spot. He didn't stay there though, he cried out to Jesus for help. The man also gave details to God about the problem. Jesus was able to help him and revealed that sometimes the only help is gonna come through prayer and fasting. Are we willing to go that far for help?
