The Most Wretched Man in Hell

Jesus eleven remaining disciples choose a replacement for Judas in this passage in Acts 1. This sermon considers how that selection is made and then plunges in to consider why there was a vacancy? What went wrong that Judas Iscariot had turned aside, betrayed Christ and then taken his own life.

We consider the two accounts of Judas' death, whether they actually disagree and why we should consider Judas the most wretched man in hell.

The sermon wraps up with a solemn warning not to become another example of such a wretched person.
