How to Handle Religious Disputes
Series Pilgrim's Progress
518
After a 3 minute review, the new lesson begins with a 15 minute discussion on 'How to Handle Religious Disputes'.
- Don't get mad
- Look at the issues seriously
- Have enough humility to realize we might not be right
- Be mature
It is also important to remember to not give up previously held beliefs without proving the new point to be true. "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."
The rest of the discussion regards the importance of:
- Using the means of grace
- Realizing some folks are 'Little-Faith' by the sovereignty of God.
- That the church needs to have those 'Little-Faiths' among them for their sake (they need encouragment) and for our sake (we need to show them love and minister to them).
This sermon ends the discussion on Little-Faith, which is the longest individual section in Pilgrim's Progress and deals with the doctrine of the Perseverance of the Saints.
