Social Action as the Fruit of Faith
Series The Book of Acts
36
Many evangelical believers have an 'allergic' reaction to the words 'Social Action' believing it to be the first step toward theological liberalism. This is, however, a deception of the devil who has stripped the gospel from liberal churches, and often stripped social action from conservative churches.
This sermon looks at the response of the church in Antioch to news of a world-wide famine. They set out to send financial support to the church in Judea. This social action is commended to the church everywhere in scripture.
In this sermon we look at four questions: 1) Why did Antioch send funds to Judea? 2) Why did they send it to believers? 3) How did they determine what to send? 4) How was the gift administered?
