Change of Heart

Repentance is a change of mind or heart that leads out to a change in our behavior. People repent throughout their lives. Some are believers and some are not. James is not speaking of the change of heart that an unbeliever has or the change of heart that all believers have concerning the gospel of Christ. Instead, he is speaking of the change of heart regarding what brings us joy and laughter as Christians. We ought to grieve over the worldly things which bring us joy.
