Achan: Our Sinful Consequences

Whenever a passage begins with the conjunction, BUT, I take notice. We know the next few words are NOT going to be good. Nor are we surprised to find Israel in dire trouble when we read the closing words of Joshua 6 followed by the first word of Joshua 7 “So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country, BUT . . .” In this passage we learn of Achan's sin, but even more disturbing is its consequence on the entire nation of Israel. This message examines how unrepentant sin can affect others.
