Internal Worship-Spiritual Mindedness

Our initial study was based upon Eph. 2: 11-22

We placed special emphasis on vs. 18

Eph 2:18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

Internal worship consists of a holy disposition of the soul towards God.

For the past several weeks we have been dealing with some of the specific aspects that have to do with a holy disposition of the soul towards God.

(1) The first one that we dealt with had to do with a true saving knowledge or God.

(2) Repentance

(3) Faith

(4) Thankfulness

We now take up another vital factor which is that of being spiritually minded.

I call your attention especially to vs. 6

Rom 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

In this verse we find that all mankind is divided into two groups

(1 ) Those who have their mind set on the flesh.

(2) Those who have their mind set on the Spirit.

The man who has his mind set on the flesh does not subject himself to the Law of God.

He is not able to subject himself to the law of God.

This brings us to consider more in detail what it means to be spiritually minded.

(1) The first thing that we can say about those who are spiritually minded is that they are no longer dead in their trespasses and sins.

(2) Where there is spiritual life there will be spiritual senses.

(3) But not only is there spiritual life and spiritual discernment....there is also the ability to perform spiritual acts
